With offices in Essex, Manchester and London, we are always interested to hear from underwriters, underwriting assistants or administrators from a Company or MGA background with experience in UK property and liability insurance. Alternately if you are a commercial Broker with the technical skills and desire to enter the underwriting space then please consider making contact; this has proven a successful route for several members of the Profile team. Please refer to any specific vacancies we have below.
Annual Apprenticeship Scheme
Now in its fifth cycle, Profile have successfully been employing school/college leavers for a fast-track roller coaster ride into the underwriting world. Only one lucky applicant is selected each year to work in our head office in Great Notley, Essex, typically with a view to a July/August start date.
Our apprentices are mentored with direct one-to-one training with the expectation of having completed the Level 3 - Certificate in Insurance (aka Cert CII) - within 12-18 months. Tutoring assistance and study materials are supplemented by an approved third-party training provider.

Apprentice Testimonials:
''Rather than going to University I knew I wanted to get a head start in my career with real life work experience. I joined Profile Underwriting in July 2018, having previously worked as a personal lines insurance sales advisor at NFU, with my Certificate in Insurance already under my belt.
Initially an Assistant Underwriter in the Manchester Office, with no prior commercial insurance knowledge and no underwriting experience, in just over a year I gained my own authority which has increased year on year. In October 2021, I was awarded ‘Profiler of the Year’; voted by my colleagues in recognition of my hard work through the business and shortly after promoted to Commercial Underwriter.
Profile have always given me the support and mentoring I needed to ensure I was able to complete the coursework and study for my exams, without impacting on my underwriting duties. The Apprenticeship has provided a broader insurance perspective and boosted knowledge relevant to the work I do on a day-to-day basis and I am very proud to have achieved a Level 4 apprenticeship and been awarded the Diploma in Insurance.
This year I was promoted to Development Underwriter and have opened a London office, affording greater day-to-day contact with our largest brokers. I would strongly recommend an apprenticeship at Profile - a fast-track boost into an exciting underwriting career! '' - Scott Haywood
''Joining Profile Underwriting in September 2022, I dived straight into the Level 3 Insurance Practitioner Apprenticeship. Having previously completed work experience for an insurance company, I was very eager to develop a career within the industry.
Fast tracked learning combined with invaluable colleague expertise and experience has helped me expand my understanding of the insurance market. At Profile, there is a strong sense of collaboration which has enabled me to grow my confidence within my work, knowing there will always be someone to assist. It is a happy, friendly environment where everyone is keen to succeed.
Recently, I have made great progress towards achieving my Certificate in Insurance, having passed my first CII exam. I’m excited to build on my knowledge and grow stronger working relationships within the market." - Isabelle Devonshire
